On a beautiful Sunday evening, in the midst of a glorious summer of sunshine, Nick, Royston and our teams from both our destination Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton salons arrived at The Mount Hotel, Tettenhall for an evening of celebration. The teams were joined by special guests including family members, College lecturers and industry media who all gathered together to share a splendid night that celebrated the success, hard work, talent and commitment of the younger members of our Royston Blythe family.
Royston and Nick were incredibly proud to host this very important event that highlighted the fantastic achievements and excellent work ethic of our assistants. ‘We’re a successful and ambitious salon and have been established for almost 30 years. We’re passionate that each and every member of our team have an abundance of opportunities that will help them carve the hairdressing career that they dream of’ says Royston Blythe.
Nick continues ‘this career begins the very moment that someone joins Royston Blythe and requires passion, hard work, commitment and not only our support but also the support and encouragement of their family. It was wonderful to meet and celebrate success with their parents and close friends who should be very proud of everything that they have achieved’
The evening began with drinks and live music on the veranda, it was an idyllic setting as the sun shone down on our fabulous guests. There was a rapturous applause after the guests were seated in the grand dining area and were welcomed by our Salon Manager Sara Tunnicliffe. Nick Malenko took to the stage and he firstly thanked and congratulated all our team for their commitment, drive and determination to develop their talent and achieve the very best results they can. Nick then addressed parents and close family members and highlighted the importance of their support and encouragement in helping their children achieve the career they dream of.
Royston, Nick and a crowd of over 150 friends, special guests, parents and colleagues were then asked to enjoy all our junior competition presentations. Each and every member of the team had put so much effort and creativity into their work and both the standard of hairdressing and also their presentation skills were highly commended by the judges. Whilst the judges conferred and reflected on the wonderful work that they had just witnessed, guests were treated to a delicious 3-course meal followed by hilarious entertainment from Royston’s good friend and Queen Of The Black Country, the Lazy Cow herself, Doreen Tipton.
Charles Douek headed the Royston Blythe Artistic Team who delighted guests with their impressive new collection. Nick Tucker, Boo, Emily and Antony worked alongside Charles to inspire the audience with the most sensational Avant Garde Hairdressing. It is important for our younger members of the team to understand just how creative we can be as hairdressers. There is this wonderful balance at Royston Blythe – we will always be focussed on delivering hairdressing excellence to our salon guests, however, we understand the importance of our team having the opportunity to express and develop their creativity. The newly formed Royston Blythe Artistic team offers an exciting new angle.
When it was time to announce the winners, there was an electric energy that filled the room. It was evident just how important this competition was to everyone who attended. Royston & Nick took to the stage and called out the names of the overall competition winners:
First Year Junior Winner: Megan
Second Year Junior Winner: Rose
Third Year Junior Winners: Joe & Ellie
Well done guys…..keep striving to be the best you can, let your minds be creative and enjoy every second. We’re delighted to have you as part of our Royston Blythe family.
